Kent State University Geauga Campus
Auburn Township Apparel Entrepreneur to Present at April 4 GEL Breakfast
From 8:00 am – 9:00 am on Friday, April 4, at Kent State University Geauga Campus, Lauri Gross, an Auburn Township entrepreneur, will share her story of launching an internet-based men’s shirt business. The presentation is part of Kent State Geauga’s monthly Geauga Economic Leadership (GEL) breakfast series. Ms. Gross will present along with Richard Coyne, counselor with the Small Business Administration’s Senior Core of Retired Executives (SCORE), who has been serving as advisor to Ms. Gross since she founded her company a year ago.
Ms. Gross founded Snuzzlo Bun Shirt Company with her husband, Brent, to provide casual, long-sleeve button-down shirts for men in fun, abstract prints, as an alternative to the solids, stripes and plaids available elsewhere. Neither Ms. Gross – a writer and publicist – nor her husband – a sales and marketing executive – had any experience with the apparel business or running an internet-based company before they launched Snuzzlo Bun Shirt Company.
Their first year of business has been a rollercoaster ride of obstacles and solutions. Today, Mr. and Ms. Gross are receiving feedback on their first 200 test shirts, seeking retailers, planning trade show appearances and working to gain favorable search-engine rankings for their website.
The GEL Breakfast is open to the public. To RSVP, contact Reina Taylor at (440) 834-3745 or rtaylor9@kent.edu.
