We were hoping to have our shirts manufactured in America but, like many before us, we discovered China the only economically viable option. We recently switched to a different manufacturer than we used for our first batch of shirts. Both have facilities in China.
This time around, we decided to work with a Los Angeles-based manufacturer with facilities in China and elsewhere. They are manufacturing shirts for Snuzzlo Bun Shirt Company at Kunyoung Textiles Co, Ltd. in the Xiao Shan district of Hangzhou, the capital city of the Zhejiang Province in the Yangtze River Delta. Located in China’s north central region, Hangzhou has been one of the most renowned and prosperous cities of China for much of the last 1,000 years and is also well-known for its beautiful natural scenery.
Our factory is socially compliant and undergoes stringent inspections on a regular basis. One of the reasons the cost of goods from China has risen over the past few years is that China has implemented much tougher labor laws. These changes have had many positive results for workers including reduced number of hours people can work, increased pay, improved working conditions, better living quarters and, of course, the strictly enforced non-use of child laborers.
It’s easy to see why fun, unusual and comfortable shirts from Snuzzlo Bun Shirt Company make you feel good on the outside but now you know they can keep you feeling good on the inside, too.
